linux codec pack?

Post by jeremy »

I just discovered netjukebox after months of trying various other packages (mp3act, jinzora, edna, etc.), and it appears to be exactly what I'm looking for. Clean UI, database driven, with ZIP download capability. My main concern is the codec pack available on the web site is for Windows and I want to install on my linux-based QNAP NAS. I'm a bit of a linux noob, and I was hoping someone might have provided (or could provide?) the linux equivalent of this encoder pack. I did actually try to compile lame on the NAS, but I guess there's no suitable compiler installed.

Thanks,
Jeremy

EDIT: I bit the bullet and installed on Windows XP. Works flawlessly. I'm in love.

Thanks for the compliments!
You could help by rating netjukebox on hotscripts

I’m also no Linux expert.

I’ don’t think a general Linux x86 codec pack will help you.
Most likely the QNAP has another processor.
So you need lame, oggdec, etc compiles for your QNAP processor.

Maybe it is a good idea to ask it on the QNAP forum.
