I wonder if WavPack files (*.wv) can be streamed just like MP3s?

Yes; with enough bandwidth and when the player supports WavePack streaming:
No: Winamp (plugin 2.5, 2.7 or 2.8a)
Yes: VLC VideoLAN 1.05
Yes: foobar2000 1.0

It is also possible to real-time trans-code to mp3.
Than all players will support streaming.

Thanks wbartels for Your reply.

I think I have enough bandwidth because I streams files locally.
I have web server on Windows XP SP3.
Apache/2.2.11 (Win32)
PHP/5.2.8
MySQL: 5.0.51a
PHP memory_limit = 500M

I have latest winamp version 5.572 and in_wv.dll version 2.8a but winamp do not streaming wavpack files. I don't know if it is problem with my winamp or simply it can't stream wavpacks. Are you able to check if Your winamp can stream these files?
I have also foobar 1.0 installed. It streams wavpacks :) but I noticed that it streams wavpacks correctly in lossless mode only. When I streaming wavpacks in hybrid lossy mode, foobar shows the bitrate of the file incorrectly (more than it really has , for example: my file has 320 kbps and foobar, when I streaming it, shows 640 kbps), and plays it with hangs up (sound stops for half second, CPU usage increase for APACHE process [probably buffering] and then plays it further). Check waveform below to see what I mean:

As You can see it stops playing rather often.

I hope this problem will be solved in the future releases of foobar and winamp.
Thanks.

Winamp wont stream WavePack file, this is a Winamp limitation.
Can you mail me a "WavePack hybrid lossy" file for testing?
