play songs local

hi,
it is possible to play songs locally? i want to set up an linuxserver with own soundcard and want to use netjukebox for it.

Netjukebox requires Winamp + httpQ plugin to play files local or true a network share.
Maybe you can run Winamp under Linux with Wine:

There is still a bug in the httpQ plugin witch converts every file to lower case.
I don't know if this is a problem when running Winamp under Linux with Wine.
There is a similar to httpQ plugin for XMMS called: iNetCtl
http://inetctrl.sourceforge.net/
This plugin is rather old and very limited.
There is also a Linux player daemon.
I don't remember what the name is.
For the moment I have no direct plans to implement a Linux Player interface.

hmm... the linuxserver is without a xserver, so i can´t run any gtk or qt gui applications. i thought it is possible to use tools like ogg123, mpg321, mpg123, etc to play songs locally.

Netjukebox is designed to communicate with the player.
So ogg123, mpg321, mpg123 is not an option.

Maybe Music Player Daemon (MPD) could be used.
MPD doesn't require xserver.
There is already a php web interface for MPD:

i tried MPD and it works.
in the next days i will try to mix netjukebox and mpd/phpmp. I hope it will work too.

Which linux are you using for the server. I use eisfair.

Is the 7zip working at your system? At my system it doesn't work.

Schön, dass es hier auch Leute gibt, die Deutsch können. Mein Englisch ist leider etwas bescheiden.
Aber mir scheint, Du hast ähnliches mit Deinem eis vor wie ich.

hallo wp180,
ich habe jetzt eisfair laufen (ohne xen) und bei mir läuft der mpd, als clienten benutze ich pitchfork, weil dieser alle meine bedürfnisse erfüllt.
wenn du lokal abspielen und streamen möchtest, dann nimm ampache, mir persönlich zu aufgeblasen (groß), aber der kann alles und arbeitet auch mit mpd zusammen.
ich teste hier mal noch ein wenig rum...
