problem updating due to compilations

Post by sweddjen »

Hi

Just installed Netjukebox thanks to the recent blurb in maxpc. I'm having trouble updating my media... the updating process will not import my Compilations. When the update hits my compilations, it stalls the process. As a workaround, I temporarily renamed my Compilations folder "zzzCompilations", so that I can import the rest of my music, however this doesn't resolve the issue of importing the compilations themselves. Obviously, comps have a different file structure than the normal artist/album structure. Any suggestions?

Also, does this mean every time I want to update netjukebox, that I need to temporarily rename my comps? That's a big PITA since I have over 9000 tracks in my comps subfolders alone!

Also what is the maximum amount of media netjukebox can handle?

I assume there is a corrupted file in your Compilations directory.
Can you once again update all albums and look if there is an error message in the HTML code?
With a good update the end looks like this:

Code: Select all

<script type="text/javascript">document.getElementById('structure').innerHTML="ZZ Top - Eliminator";</script>
<script type="text/javascript">document.getElementById('structure').innerHTML='<img src="skin/Clean/small_check.png" alt="" class="small">';</script>

<script type="text/javascript">document.getElementById('fileinfo').innerHTML='<img src="skin/Clean/small_animated_progress.gif" alt="" class="small">';</script>

There is no real limitation in the amount of albums.
For example 10.000 albums should work without any problem, it could be unpractical when you try to view all albums at once!

There is a limitation that files may not be larger than 2GB and that UTF8 filenames are not supported yet.

Thanks for the response. I fiddled with some files in my library and the update now completes. Also, I had to use your advice from the other thread regarding (image_read_embedded = false) --things are looking good now as far as updates go.

New problem: When I'm at work, I can't seem to connect to netjukebox on my home computer. When I go to my IP (http://##.###.##.222/netjukebox/ ), I receive the following error in my browser:

Connection Interrupted
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.

Any idea why?

I'm moving this question to a new thread in the bug forum.
