VideoLan for streaming *.mp4's?

I've been experimenting with some MP4's on ver. 6.6/Ubuntu 18.04.
I get this error when trying to play the video:

videoLAN error
Failed to connect to host: 127.0.0.1:8080
Connection refused
Player profile

and below:
MySQL host: 127.0.0.1 via TCP/IP
File: /var/www/html/netjukebox/include/play.inc.php
Line: 111

VLC is installed and operates as expected from the command line as "vlc".

• Enable HTTP web interface in VLC
• With this config (127.0.0.1:8080) VLC needs to be run on the same computer as the web server with netjukebox is running on.

PS
netjukebox VLC support is limited (no playlist).

Looks like mpd and vlc will be "show-stoppers" on the hosting system.
Oh well...I get most of what I pay for! lol.
