Share Single Files Albums

Firstly just like to say hi and thanks loving netjukebox !!

Is there a way to share a download without opening up the entire server

I have noticed that shared download links work only if the user has "complete download access"

If i remove user download access then it fails to authenticate

Is there a workaround for this or do i need to use a seperate server/ftp etc

Yes you can share a single album with "Share download" in the album view.

I know i can send a link but it means that the user has to have access rights to download the entire server as far as i can see

ie; if they click on the link, yes they will get the album i have given them the link to

But if they log into the server as anonymous guest etc they can download the entire contents, not good

when i remove download access from anonymous guest etc i get authentication failed when using the link provided

ie its all or nothing as the Small Faces would say

The created link will work without a user login!
So there is no need to give the anonymous user download rights!

Download failed
Authentication failed or share download is disabled

Its Only By enaabling User permissions that i can get it to work

After one valid download the url expires.

Is there any way to change this behaviour in the script so as it expires after say 24 hours

i have 5 band members and wanted to post a link to each

or is the way round this to generate new links for the same file(s)

It is possible to created multiple links from the same album, after creating a link with "Share download" you can go back to the previous page and create another link with "Share download", etc...

But im not getting downloads at all it just keeps saying;

Download failed
Authentication failed or share download is disabled

This includes the first time i try

I'm using facebook to copy the link !
Is it possible they are blocking it

Sorry for the extreme late reaction.
I don't think that Facebook blocks the link.
But lookup the link (to checking undesired content??) before placing it.
This first lookup wil already expire the shared album.
